Game Plan: Locals The Day After featured in new video game

scaled.the_day_after_t270Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and … The Day After? Not the most likely musical combination, yet all three have been tapped for the forthcoming PopStar Guitar video game, available for Wii and PlayStation 3 systems November 18.

β€œFrom what I understand, it’s based on the game Guitar Hero,” geared toward a younger gamer, TDA bassist KC Wells explains. β€œHow we got on it, I don’t know, especially a song called β€˜Car Crash.’ I’m not sure exactly how that’s going to go over with the kiddies.” No matter, because with acts such as Blink-182, Good Charlotte and Maroon 5 also in the game, the exposure can only help The Day After when its new album drops in early 2009.

β€œWe’re kind of interested to see if we can actually play our song on the game,” Wells says. β€œWe probably won’t be able to do it, because it’s a different way of playing.”

No word at press time whether PopStar Guitar will allow for customized avatars of singer/guitarist Jenine Cali, drummer Daniel Kloza or Wells with his signature nail polish and eyeliner.
